THE OPPORTUNITY
A2Z Capital is seeking a bilingual Senior Accountant to help support our fast-growing operation that is doing great work in an exciting and dynamic industry.
THE ROLE
The aim of the Accounting team is to track income and expenditures, ensure statutory compliance, and provide investors, management, and government with quantitative financial information which can be used in making business decisions.
THE ROLE
As the Senior Accountant of the team, you will:
- Perform full-cycle accounting for multiple entities and limited partnerships
- Prepare payroll, T4 and ROE consistently with the aid of the Ceridian services
- Prepare monthly operating statements
- Prepare and file GST return and audit
- Prepare year-end paperwork and coordinate external accountant for preparing FS, T2, T5013, and auditing, identify and resolve accounting and tax issues with external accountant
- Review and consolidate monthly financial statements, CAM reconciliation and property budget prepared by multiple property management teams
- Prepare rent roll and other documents for financing, refinancing and sale of properties
- Prepare property maintenance, upgrade, and other capital budget, and provide variance analysis and commentaries on monthly and year to date results (actuals vs. budget)
- Prepare weekly cash flow statement and analysis on operating and investment decisions
- Maintain all files of incorporation, limited partnership formalization, property purchase and sale
- Maintain internal control and adhere to the company’s policies and procedures, identify areas of inefficiency, work with the management team to implement new processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the current processes
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and other tasks, as required
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The Senior Accountant should have the following skills and strengths:
- Strong integrity, professionalism and work ethic
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- You are detail oriented and able to identify errors
- Advanced ability to manage and prioritize a complex workload while adhering to performance goals
- High self-management capabilities
- Results driven and action oriented
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- 5+ years of previous accounting experience, with preference of financial analyzing experience
- Highly proficient with QuickBooks accounting software
- Bachelor of Commerce degree with major in accounting or equivalent
- CPA/CA designation
- Fluent in both English and Chinese
