A2Z Capital Donates $2,000 Matching Richmond Lahoo Lions Club Fundraisings to Support Communities Affected by the Flooding and Extreme Weather in B.C.

2022/01/18, Vancouver

A2Z Capital is proud to announce a donation of $2,000 matching the fundraisings by Lahoo Lions Club at a 1:1 ratio. All $4,000 matched financial contributions will be used to support the people and communities affected by the flooding and extreme weather in the province of British Columbia.

In mid-November, 2021, an unprecedented rain hit a wide range of areas in the province causing severe flooding and landslides. On Nov. 17th, the B.C. government declared a provincial state of emergency to mitigate impacts on transportation networks and movement of essential goods and supplies, and to support the provincewide response and recovery from the widespread damage caused by the natural disaster. There were approximately 17,775 people evacuated due to the impact of the flooding.

In response to the catastrophic impact on the communities, A2Z takes immediate action by being in partnership with Lahoo Lions Club again to raise funds to help our neighbors. At a 1:1 matching ratio, the joint initiative has raised a total of $4,000 to support the flooding-affected communities.

“If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it, “ said Ms. Iris Zhao, CEO of A2Z Capital. “as a B.C.-based business owned and managed by Chinese-Canadians, we must work hard not only for the business growth but also for the community improvement. We care about the communities in which we live and work.”

After the outbreak of the COVID-19, A2Z Capital was in partnership with Richmond Lahoo Leo Club to make a joint charitable donation of $5,000 to the BC & Alberta Guide Dogs Services, a well-established charitable organization that provides professionally trained Guide Dogs, Autism Service Dogs, and PTSD Service Dogs for lives of the blind/visually-impaired, individuals with autism, and military and RCMP Veterans in British Columbia and Alberta.

A2Z Interns Organize Charitable Online Concert in Support of British Columbia Fires Appeal

2021/07/29, Vancouver

A2Z 2021 interns are organizing a virtual concert to promote a fundraising campaign initiated by A2Z Capital in support of Canadian Red Cross’ British Columbia Fires Appeal. A secured and managed by Canadian Red Cross online donation portal is open accepting donation at https://www.redcross.ca/British-Columbia-Fires-Appeal/A2ZCapital.

As dangerous wildfires sweep through British Columbia, many Canadian are in need of urgent assistance. Thousands have already been forced to evacuate and leave their homes behind. The Chinese History Museum in Lytton was sadly destroyed by the fire.

Donations to the Canadian Red Cross will be used for immediate and ongoing relief efforts, long term recovery, resiliency and preparedness for future events in British Columbia and impacted regions, including consequential events related to the fires, hopefully to rebuild the Chinese History Museum.

“We call British Columbia home,” said Kenny Zhang, President of A2Z Capital. “Love our neighbours is the corporate philosophy at A2Z. We are pleased to do our part to help our neighbours in desperate needs.”

The A2Z Capital Charity Virtual Concert for British Columbia Fires Appeal is organized by A2Z interns led by Laura Li, a sophomore at University of California Berkeley, who is also a piano player herself. The concert performers include 9 gifted young musicians aged from 9 to 17 years old.

"It's great honor to be involved in organizing, planning, and performing of this concert,” said Laura Li. “This concert gives me a deeper insight into the roles of music. Performers use music to help the victims rebuild their homes lost in the fires. It made me realize that music is more than just entertainment or enjoyment, it gives music the power in the form of charitable fundraising.”

Leah Liu and Lucas Liu are sister and brother, and will play the violin together at the concert. "We are so honored to be part of this charitable show and to use the music we play to spread the love.”

The concert is scheduled for Saturday, July 31, 2021, 7:00 – 8:30pm

It is free admission for all public and viewers can login at Zoom:
